Why Vlookup just Displays Formula and how to fix it?

If your VLOOKUP formula is displaying the formula itself instead of the result, it could be due to the cell being formatted as "Text" instead of a number format. Here's how you can fix it:

  1. Select the cell that is displaying the VLOOKUP formula.
  2. Go to the "Home" tab in the Excel ribbon.
  3. In the "Number" section, click on the drop-down menu that shows the current cell format (it may show "Text" or "General" by default).
  4. Select a number format that matches the type of data that your VLOOKUP formula is returning. For example, if your VLOOKUP formula is returning a currency value, select a currency format.
  5. Press Enter to apply the new cell format to the cell.

Once you've changed the cell format, the VLOOKUP formula should display the result of the formula instead of the formula itself.
