Symbolic Link (SLK) files are often used to share data. They contain a combination of data, formulas, and formatting. While they may not be as common as other file formats, SLK files serve specific purposes in data sharing and collaboration.
There are two ways to open an SLK file in Excel:
Using the File menu
- Click the File tab.
- In the Open section, click Open.
- In the Open dialog box, navigate to the folder where the SLK file is located.
- Select the SLK file and click Open.
Using the Ctrl + O keyboard shortcut:
- Press Ctrl+O.
- The Open dialog box will open.
- Navigate to the folder where the SLK file is located.
- Select the SLK file and click Open.
SLK files may not contain all of the formatting that was present in the original file.
SLK files are a valuable tool for data sharing. They allow you to share data, formulas, and formatting with others in a single file. By mastering the two methods above, you can easily open and work with SLK files in Excel.
